Coping techniques

SELF CARE
- Positive mindset –By talking in a positive manner to yourself you start to feel more positive and that radiates into your everyday life. Don’t dwell on past mistakes or be overly critical of yourself. You are your toughest critic and often will cut others some slack but rarely ever do this for yourself. TIP: Leave yourself reminders and/or sticky notes to remind yourself of your goals and accomplishments and how awesome you are!
- Relaxation –Just like we need sleep for our bodies to recover, we also need to relax our minds to recover. This can be through deep breathing, exercise, reading or a nice bath. One of the more beneficial methods is again through the mind. Another tool you can use to help you relax is to spin the bands on your MeditationRing. Try lighting a scented candle, listening to soothing music or putting on a face mask to relieve tension and stress. Remember even if its just a few minutes a day, you need to take care of yourself.
- Healthy body, healthy mind –The healthier your body is the healthier your mind generally is. Eating healthy and getting the proper nutrition can boost your overall mood and spirit. Getting enough sleep can also be beneficial for your overall well being and mental health by allowing you to think clearly and rationally.
- Prioritize – Sometimes you have to say no to commitments that will jeopardize your health and leave you feeling overwhelmed and drained. Although it can be hard to say no to people or requests, taking on too much will have you feeling more anxious and resentful.
- Natural Remedies – Research has shown that natural remedies such as Turmeric can help by stimulating the release of the two “happy hormones” serotonin and dopamine in the brain.
Remember, most of the problems you worry about, never happen.
